I'm Pugazhenthi, a self-taught photographer & software architect, and the solo founder of SmokePic, based in Chennai.

Long story short, I started my journey back in 2018 building my own life & future from scratch while chasing my dream. In 2021, I bought my first DSLR and taught myself the craft: light, composition, and how a scene comes together to make an ordinary moment look extraordinary. Along the way I learned something simple. Most people will never own a professional camera, learn to light a room, or pay ₹3,000 to ₹50,000 (about $35 to $600) for a professional photoshoot. Not because they don't deserve great photos, but because the skill, the gear, and the cost are out of reach.

SmokePic exists to close that gap. You take a quick photo on your phone, with its bad lighting, ordinary room, and no styling, and SmokePic turns it into a professional shoot. The part I care about most is that it stays you. Your face, your identity, your pose, and your expression are preserved while everything around them becomes studio grade. A photographer's eye, without the photographer's price tag.

I built this on my own, out of a genuine love for the craft and a belief that good photography shouldn't be a luxury. SmokePic is just getting started, and I'm building it in the open, one honest improvement at a time.
